In August 2014, Eddie O’Connell steps into the dangerous world of illegal sports betting after the murder of mob-connected bookie Zany. Tasked with uncovering the killer and managing Zany's operation, Eddie navigates a web of high-stakes gambling, debt collection, and shady characters, all while contending with a rival bookie and the local crime boss. Collaborating with Zany's former lover and operation manager, Paula "Rudi" Rudinger, Eddie is determined to solve the case and ensure justice for his fallen predecessor. As he delves deeper, Eddie finds himself increasingly at odds with those who wish to see him gone.
