The Irish Soldiers of Mexico explores the compelling story of Irish immigrants who fought for the Mexican Army during the War of 1846-48, ultimately facing execution by the U.S. Army. This updated edition enriches the original narrative with newly uncovered historical material, including a possible death certificate for John Riley, along with expanded sections on the aftermath of the war and commemorative efforts. Since its initial release, public perception of the San Patricios has evolved, supported by various cultural representations, including films, novels, and music honoring their legacy.
