Friends and Heroes

In the gripping conclusion of The Balkan Trilogy, Harriet and Guy Pringle flee to Athens just as Bucharest falls, only to discover that the city's atmosphere is fraught with tension as Greece faces the looming threat of the Axis Powers. Despite Guy's usual optimism, he faces disappointment as his former employees show little gratitude or loyalty. As they navigate this precarious environment, both characters come to realize that their hopes for safety in Athens may be unfounded.
