Barricade

In the dystopian novel Barricade, Kenstibec, a genetically engineered member of the ruthless Ficial race, navigates a desolate post-apocalyptic Britain as a taxi driver. Once destined to build a new world, he now transports Ficial clients between besieged cities while facing a myriad of challenges, including a narcissistic journalist and a scheming human guide. His journey becomes increasingly perilous as he encounters bizarre threats, from giant killer rats to a drug-fueled army, all while uncovering a sinister plot that threatens both his kind and humanity itself.
