During a gala at the Cruz Museum, caterer Nora Charles takes on the challenge of investigating the disappearance of director Violet Crenshaw's niece, a case previously handled by a missing private eye, the former owner of her cat, Nick. As Nora and Nick delve into a web of coded messages, theft, false identities, and murder, they hope to uncover not only the truth about the young woman but also the detective's fate, all while navigating the dangers that come with their inquiry.
