In a divided Queendom, Jacs, an inventor’s apprentice from the Lower Realm, uncovers a letter from Connor, an Upperite boy who wishes to learn about her world. Unbeknownst to her, Connor is actually Prince Cornelius of Frea, and their budding friendship faces challenges from class prejudices and a rekindled feud when the royal family visits. Determined to unite their realms, Jacs must infiltrate the Upper Realm and compete in the Contest of Queens, navigating themes of friendship, love, and bravery along the way.
