Roi and Me and the Double V

Set during WWII, this middle grade novel follows best friends Marvel and Roi as they support the war effort and confront racial injustice in their community. When threats to their local park and limited opportunities for Black Americans arise, they turn to activism and learn about the Double V campaign, advocating for victory both abroad and at home. With the help of their teacher, they discover the power of standing up for their dreams and fighting for justice.
