Dr. Simone Li, a scientist recently rescued from abduction alongside her daughter, is trying to rebuild their lives on the desert planet Carthago while grappling with guilt over her past. Simultaneously, Toren, a cyborg once trained to be an emotionless warrior, struggles to cope with a surge of unfamiliar feelings after being injured during their rescue.
