Phantom

Arnold Bennett, born in 1867 in Hanley, eventually moved to London to pursue a career in journalism after briefly working for his father's law firm. Turning to full-time writing at the turn of the century, he found success with his acclaimed 1908 novel, The Old Wives Tale, which solidified his reputation. Bennett is best known for his notable works, including Clayhanger and The Old Wives Tale, both set in the Potteries region that shaped much of his writing.
