Only the River

Fleeing wartime Vienna, Pepa and her family find refuge in El Castillo, Nicaragua, where her parents work against yellow fever and Pepa becomes enchanted by the jungle and its quirky residents. However, their abrupt move to New York leaves her heartbroken, while years pass and the lives of Pepa and local boy Guillermo take diverging paths amid Nicaragua's turbulent political landscape. The narrative unfolds as their children, now caught in their own struggles, navigate love and loss against a backdrop of revolution, ultimately intertwining their fates across generations.
