Shadow on the Mountain

Shadow on the Mountain follows 14-year-old Norwegian Espen as he navigates the challenges of World War II after the Nazi occupation of Norway. Engaging in the resistance movement, he starts by delivering illegal newspapers and evolves into a spy, all while evading the Gestapo. Over five tumultuous years, Espen experiences friendship, love, and the weight of critical decisions, culminating in a perilous escape on skis to Sweden. The story is enriched by archival photographs and maps, drawing inspiration from the real-life experiences of Norwegian Erling Storrusten.
