In 1924 Chicago, amidst the chaos of Prohibition, Sam Cunningham leaves his small-town life in search of adventure, only to find himself embroiled in the dangerous world of gangs and witchcraft. With the guidance of his cousin Eldon, he learns the art of hex-making, but his life takes a perilous turn after Eldon's murder. Sam partners with the reluctant cheetah-shifter Alistair Gatti to recover a critical hex that could save him, navigating the treacherous underbelly of the city while grappling with unexpected feelings for his companion. Together, they must confront rival gangs and unravel the mystery that threatens their lives.
