Through a Glass, Darkly

On a bright spring day in Venice, Commissario Guido Brunetti and Inspector Vianello take a break from their duties to help release Vianello's friend, environmental activist Marco Ribetti, who has been arrested for protesting toxic waste dumping. Their plans take a dark turn when they encounter Ribetti's irritable father-in-law, recently overheard making threats against him. When a night watchman is found dead at the father-in-law's glass factory, alongside a copy of Dante's Inferno, Brunetti is drawn into a web of intrigue that connects the murder to the ongoing environmental crisis.
