When a petty thief's attempt to escape the police leads to a life-altering accident, his shattered body is reconstructed by a young, ambitious doctor. Released from prison, he navigates Victorian London's intricate sewer system, becoming the city's most elusive burglar while living a dual life as the wealthy gentleman Montmorency and his degenerate servant Scarper.
