In 1956 Dublin, Mary Kate Ryan returns to the boarding house she once cherished after a heartbreaking loss, hoping to reclaim her life. Encouraged by her friend Moira, she opens the doors to women in need while forming unbreakable bonds with them and their new resident, a ten-year-old girl named Abby. As Mary Kate revitalizes the house, she discovers the importance of chosen family, but a troubling secret about Abby's past threatens their happiness.
