Queen Lucia

In "Queen Lucia," the first installment of E.F. Benson's comic book series Mapp and Lucia, listeners are introduced to the captivating yet snobbish Emmeline Lucas, the self-proclaimed cultural leader of the quaint village of Riseholme. Set in the 1920s, the story humorously explores her struggles for social dominance as new residents, including a glamorous opera singer and an eccentric spiritualist, threaten her status. This delightful satire offers a witty glimpse into small-town rivalries filled with pretensions and absurd social encounters, brought to life by the talented Lucy Scott.
