A Librarian's War

This audiobook chronicles the life of Ray Trautman, a passionate advocate for free access to books who dedicated his life to expanding reading opportunities across America and the military. From building libraries during the Depression to developing innovative programs for soldiers in World War II, Trautman played a pivotal role in promoting literacy and spreading reading materials. His efforts led to the distribution of millions of books and comics and continued beyond the war as he worked to improve access for rural communities, the visually impaired, and prison inmates.
