In the fictional town of Steeplejack, Idaho, forensic artist Hazel Mackenzie uses her skills to assist law enforcement until a tragic accident shatters her world. After her husband dies and her gay twin brother, Kento, is targeted in a violent act fueled by a growing anti-LGBTQ sentiment, Hazel is thrust into a battle against the rampant prejudice threatening her family.
