In a distant future, the inhabitants of Tarsus Six scramble to evacuate their world before it is consumed by a destructive spatial anomaly. As the Doctor and Ace arrive on a nearby space station, their plans become complicated when the Doctor's motives reveal themselves, and their lives become intertwined with the fate of the fleeing population.
