Scarlett, a biophysics graduate, and Artie, a retired art history professor, have been tasked with authenticating a trove of paintings found in an Italian townhouse. Initially at odds, their relationship takes a turn when they uncover a manuscript by Leonardo da Vinci’s last pupil, detailing a murder mystery that threatens to keep the legendary artist's notebooks unpublished. Fearing for the manuscript's future under their wealthy client, the two women resolve to steal it, adopting new identities and embarking on a thrilling adventure across northern Italy to ensure its publication.
