Eyes Open

In 1967 Portugal, Sonia envisions a future as a poet alongside her artist boyfriend, Ze Miguel, as they navigate the oppressive government restrictions on their lives. However, when Ze Miguel is arrested for anti-government activities and Sonia’s family restaurant is closed, her world is turned upside down. Forced to abandon her schooling for a low-paying job, she encounters the harsh realities of life that she never anticipated. Without the support of her boyfriend or family, Sonia confronts the challenge of fighting for justice in an increasingly dangerous environment.
