Uprising

In "Lidia's War," twelve-year-old Lidia faces a life-altering reality as Nazi planes fly overhead, initiating Germany's occupation of Poland. With her father joining the Polish army, Lidia longs to contribute to the fight against the Nazis, but her role is initially limited to supporting her family. As she finds solace in music and gradually steps into action by smuggling food to Jewish individuals in the Warsaw Ghetto, she becomes increasingly involved in the resistance movement. Inspired by her brother's commitment, Lidia ultimately takes on the dangerous task of being a courier during the Warsaw uprising, fiercely determined to defend her homeland and its people.
