In Harmony, Oregon, small ranchers face dire challenges as low cattle prices and the encroaching Skull Ranch threaten their livelihood. When a local newspaper editor is shot, suspicions fall on the ranch's manager, Black Mike Sand, prompting Dan Riley to investigate the true mastermind behind the syndicate. Meanwhile, Rod Devers grapples with issues on his own ranch and refuses to join a vigilante group formed by desperate ranchers, leading to tensions with his peers as he takes a job protecting the powerful Karl Hermann and his daughter. With mounting pressure from all sides, the ranchers must navigate a landscape of fear, loyalty, and betrayal.
