Origin and Cause

When cable-TV mogul Stanfield Standish is found dead in his burnt-out Duesenberg, his family sues the restoration company, Courtland Motor Company, for $52 million. Courtland's attorney, Max Bramble, enlists private detective and arson expert Wylie Nolan to investigate the fire. As Bramble digs into Standish's past, he uncovers a trail of enemies, suggesting that the media tycoon may have met a fiery end at the hands of someone he wronged.
