The Monsters of Chavez Ravine

In "Chavez Ravine," a 2021 International Latino Book Awards Gold Medal Winner, 22-year-old Trini Duran returns to her troubled neighborhood after her father’s mysterious attack. Set in 1952 Los Angeles, the Mexican American community faces eviction and must confront both corrupt politicians and supernatural threats that terrorize the remaining residents. Joined by a community organizer, a healer, and a group of determined fighters, Trini embarks on a quest to protect her home, forcing her to confront her own past and the lengths she is willing to go to save her community.
