In "The Cause," shifters gather in Nantahala Forest to unite against a growing vampire threat, led by Aven Kittrell, an eagle shifter with a mysterious past and a desire for belonging. As he navigates his responsibilities to the magical coven and his own personal desires, Aven's path crosses with Dakota Manteo, a determined half-breed jaguar shifter eager to embrace her true identity.
