The Malefactor

Sir Wingrave Seton endures nine years of imprisonment to protect a lady's honor, but his desire for revenge leads him to amass great wealth with the aim of destroying others' lives. As a seemingly disparate group—a Boston housewife, a young stockbroker, and an orphaned church organist's daughter—face imminent disaster, a mysterious benefactor intervenes. Seton eventually targets the woman who betrayed him, taking pleasure in her suffering, yet a young lover's presence begins to soften his icy demeanor, challenging his vengeful intentions.
