The Spinoza of Market Street

In "The Spinoza of Market Street," acclaimed author Isaac Bashevis Singer transports listeners to pre-World War I Warsaw, where Dr. Nahum Fischelson observes life from his attic room. As he critiques both merchants and thieves from a distance, he becomes engrossed in the philosophy of Benedict de Spinoza. However, his solitary existence prompts a reckoning with the larger world, urging him to confront the possibilities beyond his isolation.
