In the Coach House

In this contemplative story, three men and a young boy gather in a coach-house to play a game of "kings," unaware of the somber atmosphere surrounding them due to the recent suicide attempt of their employer. As the characters share stories and reflect on religious themes, the mood shifts from light-heartedness to a deeper exploration of life, death, and faith. Authored by renowned Russian writer Anton Chekhov, the narrative subtly weaves human emotion and philosophical questions into a poignant scene set against the backdrop of an estate in crisis.
