In the mid-1940s, following the fall of France, Adolf Hitler initiated Operation Lena, tasking Germany’s Abwehr with embedding spies throughout Britain. This network included a diverse cast of operatives, from a master of disguises to a scrubwoman, who reported on Allied defenses and strategies. However, unbeknownst to Hitler, every spy was captured and turned by British intelligence, becoming double agents that fed a mix of truth and misinformation back to Germany, ultimately allowing the Allies to control the German espionage efforts within the UK.
