A Dead Man in Malta

In 1913 Malta, as hot air balloons drift over the Grand Harbour, tragedy strikes when a balloonist crashes and later dies at the Naval Hospital. Special Investigator Seymour from the Foreign Office is dispatched from London to unravel a series of unexpected deaths linked to the hospital, amidst rising tensions and questions of loyalty among the Maltese population regarding their British protectorate status. As rumblings of war loom, the significance of a critical letter to the Times prompts Seymour to determine whether negligence or a more sinister plot is at play.
