A millionaire English lord envisions creating a Utopian community on a remote Pacific island, recruiting about 40 individuals, including a pestologist named Camilla and the narrator. However, shortly after their arrival, the group's escape route is cut off when their radio is destroyed, and tensions escalate as members of the community begin to die.
