In the 25th century, remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a dying underground colony following a devastating nuclear war. With the hope of changing their grim fate, they use an artificial wormhole to send Proteus, a uniquely mutated individual, back to early 20th-century London to alter the discovery of nuclear fission.
