King Solomon's Mines

In Rider Haggard's classic adventure novel, "King Solomon’s Mines," middle-aged big game hunter Allan Quartermain joins Sir Henry Curtis on a dangerous expedition to locate Curtis' missing brother, George, who disappeared while searching for treasure tied to an ancient map. Promised a share of the riches from King Solomon's Mines, Quartermain seeks not only adventure but also the financial security that would benefit his son. This tale, born from a playful challenge to surpass Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island," has become one of the defining stories of its genre.
