Space sheriff Joe Corbit discovers a potentially universe-ending artifact while investigating a distress call at the ruins of a lost alien civilization. As he uncovers an illegal dig involving the Chinese galactic empire and the Martian mob, a deadly confrontation leaves him with the artifact intended as a super-weapon.
