Slippery Jim diGriz finds himself in a perilous situation following a botched robbery and a death sentence. In an attempt to save his life, he strikes a deal with the authorities, agreeing to retrieve a missing alien artifact from the chaotic planet Liokukae. Disguised as the leader of a rock band, he must navigate a world filled with outcasts and criminals, all while racing against time and the lethal effects of a poison he has been given.
