Allison Hong, a 15-year-old Taiwanese girl, defies her cultural expectations by rejecting her father's wishes to remain in Buddhism and converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After serving a mission in Taiwan, she marries her boyfriend, Cameron Chastain, but faces heartbreak when he abruptly leaves her. Seeking love and belonging, Allison moves to Utah and navigates the challenging and often perplexing dating scene at Brigham Young University, where she grapples with the complexities of relationships and self-acceptance.
