Beggars and Choosers

In Rhondda 1905, coal reigns supreme, and Harry Watkin Jones stands as the wealthiest and most benevolent colliery owner. His daughter, Sali, is set to marry her childhood sweetheart when tragedy disrupts her life, leaving her a destitute outcast fleeing from an abusive marriage. Finding refuge among colliers, Sali grapples with unrest and violence in the valleys, ultimately facing difficult choices that force her to renounce her roots and sacrifice her son's future for the love of her newfound community and their cause.
