Parnassus on Wheels

"Parnassus on Wheels," Christopher Morley's debut novel published in 1917, follows the journey of Helen McGill as she pivots from caring for her ailing brother to taking over a traveling book business from Roger Mifflin. Narrated from Helen's perspective, the story explores her quest for independence and adventure while drawing inspiration from David Grayson's "The Friendly Road." The novel is a celebration of literature and self-discovery, setting the stage for Morley's sequel, "The Haunted Bookshop."
