Van Turner, a former star of the Carolina Cold Fury, retires to a peaceful life in Vermont with his wife, Simone, after achieving his dream of championship glory. However, his past resurfaces when his late father, a serial killer, leaves behind a controversial biography that threatens to destroy Van's peaceful existence. Attempting to protect Simone from the fallout, he decides to rejoin hockey with the Pittsburgh Titans, believing it to be the best way to shield her and focus on the game.
