Outpost

In "Outpost" by Ann Aguirre, Deuce finds herself struggling to adapt to life topside in a town called Salvation, where she is viewed as an inexperienced brat despite her skills as a fighter. As her relationship with her partner Fade becomes strained, Deuce seeks purpose by joining the summer patrols to protect the fields, only to discover that the Freaks are evolving and plotting against their new home.
