The Twilight Patriots

In "The Seventh Fleet," Admiral Theodore Magnuson, head of the Office of Naval Intelligence, grapples with the decision to send the fleet to Vladivostok for a New Year's celebration, against his better judgment. Concerned that the event conceals a larger, more dangerous agenda, he initiates his own intelligence operation in Russia and China. Meanwhile, the Chinese are left questioning the intentions behind the unusual US-Soviet naval presence in the East China Sea.
