Soldier's Joy

Soldier’s Joy follows two Southern soldiers, Thomas Laidlaw and his childhood friend Rodney Redmon, as they return home from Vietnam and confront the challenges of life in a prejudiced Tennessee community. Laidlaw seeks solace in his music and land, while Redmon grapples with painful memories and the scars of injustice. As they attempt to rebuild their lives and rekindle their friendship, the emergence of local Klansmen threatens to pull them back into the violence they thought they had escaped. This compelling narrative explores themes of trauma, friendship, and resilience amidst deep-rooted societal prejudice.
