In the first full-length novel of the Boystown series, set in late summer 1982, private detective Nick Nowak is tasked with locating a retired gentleman's long-lost lover. However, his investigation unexpectedly leads him into a complex web of a decades-old murder linked to a political candidate vying for the mayoral seat in Chicago. As tensions rise, Nick also finds himself questioning the nature of his own relationship with his lover, Bert, after an ambitious young reporter befriends him.
