In the summer of 1915, fourteen-year-old Pin, the daughter of a carnival fortune-teller, disguises herself as a boy to join a teenage gang at Chicago's Riverview amusement park. As she navigates the thrills and dangers of the carnival, she stumbles upon a ruthless killer lurking in the shadows. When she witnesses a troubling event at the Hell Gate ride, Pin's quest for justice entwines her fate with that of the eccentric artist Henry Darger, as they delve into the dark underbelly of a city rife with secrets and peril.
