Wagers of Gold Mountain

Set against the backdrop of San Francisco's Gold Rush, "Ji Yuan" follows a Chinese youth who immigrated with his brother in search of fortune but instead encounters hardship. With his brother gravely ill, Yuan seeks the assistance of two mischievous local spirits whose guidance comes laced with deception. In a desperate bid to save his brother, Yuan must navigate a treacherous path to free their servant, a hatchet-man, from jail—ultimately facing the stark choice between life and death.
