In a world where vampires and shapeshifters have emerged into society, Gabi Daniels continues her normal life, oblivious to the hidden dangers surrounding her. As her father, a lawyer, takes on a controversial case defending a vampire accused of murder, threats from anti-S'nat groups escalate, prompting him to hire WatchDogs, Inc.—a unique agency where bodyguards can shapeshift into dogs. Among them is Fray Matsen, a Rottweiler who must balance his protective duties with his growing distraction over Gabi, all while navigating a web of unseen threats that could endanger them both.
