When I First Held You

In 1960s Glasgow, young lovers Judith and Jimmy, both passionate anti-nuclear activists, see their dreams shattered when their protest squat is raided, leading to Jimmy's imprisonment. Alone and pregnant, Judith is forced to give up their baby and navigate her grief in an unmarried mothers’ home. Decades later, as Judith runs a mending shop, her life is disrupted by Jimmy's unexpected return, prompting both to confront their shared past and the silence that separated them. Amidst heartbreak and healing, they seek to piece together the fragments of their intertwined stories.
