In January 2023, Cara faces the emotional challenge of attending her great-aunt Audrey's funeral, an even greater struggle as her daughter's tenth birthday looms. Flashback to June 2000, when ten-year-old Cara and her sister Charlotte are sent to live with their eccentric great-aunt and uncle, part of a renowned acting family, after their mother is hospitalized. While Charlotte adapts quickly to their theatrical world, Cara feels like an outsider amid the unfolding family drama, hinting at deeper tragedies beneath the surface.
