James Henry and his friends, the Flab Five, are excited to judge at Hog Fest, a vibrant barbecue festival in the Virginia mountains. However, their festivities take a dark turn when a "pit master" is found dead, and a fellow supper club member is accused of the crime. As they navigate the colorful fairground filled with tempting food, James grapples with personal challenges, including a malfunctioning bookmobile and a strained relationship. With the stakes high, he must shift his focus from delicious foods to uncovering the truth behind the murder, as Hog Fest proves to be anything but a leisurely event.
